A local charity organization is seeking volunteers for their Early Years Volunteer role to support families and children in local playgroups. Location: North Staffordshire and SoT, City-wide, Tunstall, Hanley, Stoke, Fenton, Newcastle Under Lyme

Area of interest: Supporting Adults, Supporting Children and Young People, Sharing Existing or Learning New Skills

The role of Early Years Volunteer is a fantastic opportunity to support families and children in your local area in our Big Cup playgroups. Our playgroups are a relaxed and fun environment, where parents can come to spend time with their child, seek out emotional support and make friends with other parents!

As a volunteer you will be vital in supporting the parents, making them feel welcome and ensuring they receive the support they need. This is a fantastic opportunity, especially for those who wish to expand into an early years career, volunteers need to be 16+.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe and stimulating environment.
  • Get to know parents/carers and children.
  • Getting down to the child’s level and playing.
  • Help with the running of Big Cup including but not limited to kitchen duties, set up, meet and greet and supporting parents where needed
  • Involved in planning stimulating activities for Big Cup
Sessions and locations
  • Monday – Bentilee (9.30am–11.30am)
  • Tuesday – Tunstall (9.30am–11.30am)
  • Wednesday – Newcastle Under Lyme, Abbey Hulton (9.30am–11.30am)
  • Thursday – Longton (9.30am–11.30am)
  • Friday – Hanley, Newcastle Under Lyme (9.30am–11.30am)
Requirements and benefits

You will be required to have a DBS check which will be submitted by ourselves and you will be reimbursed with vehicle travel expenses.
