Job summary

A prominent academy in elite sports is seeking an Academy Physiotherapist to plan and deliver treatment strategies for players. Responsibilities include line management of physiotherapists, ensuring medical supervision, and coordinating training sessions. The candidate should be chartered and possess an ITMMiF qualification, with experience in elite sports preferred. Full-time role offering a salary between £32,500 - £35,000 depending on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate treatment and rehabilitation strategies for Academy players.
  • Line manager to Academy Physiotherapists.
  • Co-ordinate work schedules for Academy physiotherapists.
  • Work with First Team Physiotherapy department for player transitions.
  • Ensure medical supervision at U18 training sessions.
  • Deliver rehabilitation sessions indoors and outdoors.
  • Meet EPPP criteria.
  • Ensure physio cover for all training sessions and games.
  • Organise Cardiac Screens annually.
  • Conduct MSK screening of Academy players.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Create and coordinate CPD for Academy medical staff.
  • Ensure SOAP notes are recorded and current.

Job description

£32,500 - £35,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate treatment and rehabilitation strategies for Academy players
  • Line manager to Academy Physiotherapists
  • Co-ordinate and manage the work schedules for all Academy physiotherapists on a weekly basis
  • Work closely with the First Team Physiotherapy department with regards to the transition of players into the professional squad
  • Ensure appropriate medical supervision at all U18 training sessions and matches
  • Deliver indoors (Physio room and Gym) and outdoors (on field) rehabilitation sessions and safely return to play
  • To meet the criteria of the EPPP
  • Ensure appropriate physio cover is in place for each training session and games programme in compliance with EPPP requirements
  • Organise Cardiac Screens for relevant age groups annually
  • Conduct MSK screening of Academy players throughout the season
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Create and coordinate CPD for Academy medical staff
  • Ensure SOAP notes are recorded and up to date
About The Candidate

This role if full time (35 hours per week)

Salary range is from £32,500 - £35,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience

The successful candidate will need to hold a

  • Chartered Physiotherapy qualification
  • Member of the HCPC
  • ITMMiF qualification is essential, ATMMiF would be desirable
  • Experience of working within elite sport (preferably football)
  • Enhanced DBS
