A leading defence organisation in the UK is seeking a candidate to lead significant investment projects in their manufacturing facilities in Stevenage and Henlow. The role involves managing a team, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring project success in a complex environment. The ideal candidate will have strong programme management experience and a track record in stakeholder relationship management. This dynamic hybrid role includes on-site work and offers a competitive salary package.
Stevenage
As with the rest of MBDA, Manufacturing is ramping up to be battle ready. An opportunity has become available for someone to compose and lead a team, managing and delivering the future manufacturing investment across our Henlow and Stevenage manufacturing sites.
Salary: Circa £70,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4 days per week on-site, due to workload classification and team collaboration
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the physical transformation of our Henlow and Stevenage Manufacturing facilities. With our orderbook continuing to grow it is essential that MBDA is ready for the challenges of the future. This role plays a pivotal role preparing MBDA for a significant ramp up in manufacturing capacity and the implementation of new technology and ways of working.
The role will require strong leadership, both of the direct team and internal and external stakeholders to ensuring project success.
At Henlow specifically this marks a major transformation of the site covering every aspect of site operation from land acquisition, to live-build missile assembly buildings including fitout, storage solutions and utilities uplifts and its delivery requires successful coordination of a network of stakeholders including the MoD, the local council, the Health and Safety Executive.
At Stevenage the challenge is different, managing the investment activities covering inert-build missile assembly buildings including fitout and storage solutions, ensuring this is fit for the development of new products and technologies now and into the future.
Programme management experience is essential, ideally experience in a complex and highly legislative environment. Able to problem solve and work with a wide variety of stakeholders from technical experts, building contractors, and directors.
