A community support organization in Barnsley is seeking a project worker for their Girls@HOME programme, aimed at supporting young women aged 16-25 to improve their mental health and make positive life decisions. This part-time role involves providing one-to-one and group work support, alongside signposting individuals to relevant services. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young women and insight into the social challenges they face. Embedded within our emotional wellbeing hub, we are looking to recruit a project worker for our Girls@HOME programme, a new project supporting young women aged 16-25, to improve their mental health, to better understand themselves and make positive decisions about their future.
The project will offer both one-to-one and group work support for young women. Our holistic model and youth work approach means you will be able to support young women with a variety of needs which may include but not be limited to:
They will be willing to work as part of our wellbeing programme team, supporting referral process and covering sessions as required.
You will also ensure that young women are supportively signposted to wider support services available in Barnsley.
The right candidate will need to have proven experience of working with young women of this age group and knowledge around mental health. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the stereotypical socialisation of young women in Barnsley, and the wider impact of misogyny on structural systems on a national level and its impact on young women.
