A leading community health services provider in Leeds seeks a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership and high-quality care for children and young people. The role involves supporting assessments, leading a multidisciplinary team, and participating in teaching and research. Applicants should have strong interpersonal skills and be committed to enhancing service delivery within the community. This is an exciting time as the Children and young people’s mental health services (CYPMHS) (formerly known as CAMHS) in Leeds undergoes a redesign. You will bring excellent leadership, enthusiasm & strategic skills to help solve challenges & shape the future of the service.
You will showcase advanced interpersonal skills, be approachable and welcoming, and demonstrate a positive approach to the assessment and treatment of children & young people with a range of presentations within our Core and LD service.
You will hold a caseload, support new assessments & reviews. You will be a motivated & reliable colleague, committed to developing as a team & will provide clinical leadership & support for local & whole service MDTs.
You will have an identified base but will be expected to work across the city. Effective communication skills are essential. Previous knowledge of healthcare systems would be beneficial although training will be provided.
You will have the opportunity to be active in postgraduate teaching & develop appropriate research interests & applicants must be on the Specialist Register.
Main Duties:
The post is for 10 sessions p/w. We encourage those wishing to work part-time or in a job share to apply. There are on call responsibilities with this post.
