This post forms part of the Directorate of Adult Mental Health within the North Yorkshire and York Localityarea of Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. Adult community mental health services aredirectly commissioned across two clinical commissioning groups - namelyRichmondshire and Whitby CCG and the Scarborough and Ryedale CCG.
Scarborough is a town onthe north-sea coast of Outer Yorkshire, England with a population of just over67.000 people (2019 census). Scarborough is the largest holiday resort on theYorkshire coast.
This exciting 10 PA post hascome about due to increased financial provision into the area. The post will beshared with another Full-time consultant who will work in the central area ofthe city. This post covers the provision of medical leadership to the Outerarea of the Scarborough Community Mental Health Team (SICT). The divisionbetween outer and central sections is purely for medical cover purposes andfollows an equitable division of local GP surgeries. The community teamcontinues to operate as one community team. Thejob is split into 3 sessions of supportingprofessional activities (SPA) and 7 sessions ofdirect clinical care (DCC) and it is hoped that the post-holder will beencouraged to use the SPA provisionwithin this post to engage in research, education or service development inconjunction with local colleagues in order to ensure that this can occur informal protected time.
The post holder with provide consultant leadershipin line with the principles of New Ways of Working to the Outer section of the CommunityMental Health Team in Scarborough.
The community team is based at The Ellis Centre. Thecommunity team delivers care based on the principles of productive andpurposeful care (PPC) to deliver clinical services which aspire to improve thequality and efficiency of our patients care journey.
The post-holders core clinical duties will involveformulation, review and leadership meetings, MHAct related work, andinvolvement in complex care planning meetings. Based on Royal Collegerecommendations, Outpatient work will comprise 3,5 PAs; Clinical Admin 1 PA;MDT work 1 PA; Emergencies 1 PA and MHA work 0,5 PAs. There will beflexibility around this guide depending on team requirements and support.
