OurElectricalMaintenance Technicians are exceptional problem solvers. They ensure our critical equipment and assets (like pumps, motors,ControlPannelsand instrumentationand otherelectricalcomponentsremainin good working condition and quickly overhaul and repair them when needed to keep our treatment processes working effectively, allowing us to provide essential services to our customers around the clock.

Working alongside our electrical maintenance teamyou’llundertake installation, testing, servicing, removal, replacement, maintenance, and repair of a range of equipment, sometimes complex, as part of planned preventative and reactive maintenance programmes. Furthermore, you will play a crucial part in creating an electricity generating environment, which may use a range of different fuels including gas,windand other renewable sources. You will be building upon the electrical systems our infrastructure needs tooperate, using knowledge of computer systems to repair and recycle equipment

HOW WILL THE PROGRAMME WORK?

You will be based at LlandinaminPowys, the heart of our.Whilst on the apprenticeship programme,you’llbe buddied with a technical mentor whilst you develop your skills and knowledge. At the end of the programme,you’llbe working as part of the maintenance team and will have your own workload to manage and deliver which may require you to work on your own.

In this exciting programme, you will have the chance to discuss your development and career ambitions in your 1-1 meetings with business leads, mentors, a study buddy, the cohort leader, and the New Talent Team.

As part of this apprenticeship, you will be studying towards a level 3 qualification in Water industry asset maintenance technician.   • Maintenance practices,processesand procedures covering a range of waste and water treatment systems, plant, and equipment.
  • Relevant level of theory and principles that underpin the design and function ofelectricalsystems and equipment.
  • How to install and connect a range of electricalequipment and components along with other associated equipment used throughout water and wastewater treatment processes
  • Installing andcommissioningelectrical equipment and instruments used within the water industry
  • Skillsin the use of hand and power tools and how to usemicrometers, verniers,lasersand other precision measurement tools.
  • How to interpret engineering drawings,schematicsand manuals to installandmaintainelectricalequipment.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Our New Talent Team will guide you and support you every step of the way. Furthermore, your line manager, mentor and apprentice buddy will be there to help you in making sure you reach your full potential here at Severn Trent.

Standard: Water industry asset maintenance technician

Entry Criteria: This apprenticeship standard is at Level 3 (equivalent to 2 A-Level qualifications). If youdon'talready have GCSEs in English and Maths, you will need to take functional skills as part of the apprenticeship, which is an alternative to GCSEs and achieve a Level 2. You will need to achieve this prior to completion of your apprenticeship.

Driving Requirements: You must have a full UK driving licence along with access to your own vehicle upon completion of your apprenticeship

Please note, some of our sites are in remote locations and not serviced by public transport. It is your responsibility to ensure you can arrive safely at work for your start time each day, so please consider this before applying.

You will be working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, across a 7am – 3.30pm / 7am – 3pm / 8am – 4pm working pattern.
