Overview

Housekeeping Assistant at Ampfield Meadows Retirement Village - Chandlers Ford

20 hours per week, across a flexible 7-day rota, including weekends, between 7am and 7pm.

As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring that residents’ homes and communal areas are kept clean to a high standard. Your attention to detail, pride in your work, and friendly approach will help create a safe, tidy, and inviting space for everyone who lives and visits here. We are looking for previous housekeeping experience within a 4★ hotel environment, demonstrating consistently high standards of cleanliness and presentation. We are looking for a reliable and caring Housekeeping Assistant to join our team and help maintain clean, comfortable, and welcoming environments across our villages.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning designated areas, ensuring they are kept tidy, hygienic, and welcoming
• Carrying out housekeeping duties within residents’ homes with care and discretion
• Maintaining communal areas so they are consistently neat, tidy, and well presented
• Cleaning floors, including vacuuming, shampooing carpets, and polishing furniture and woodwork
• Emptying and relining waste bins, following correct disposal procedures
• Cleaning windows and glass surfaces within reach
• Carrying out laundry duties efficiently and to a high standard
• Adhering to COSHH regulations and maintaining a safe working environment at all times

Key Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Housekeeping Assistant or Housekeeper in a 4★ hotel setting
• Self-motivated, personable, and able to communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and visitors
• Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to respond to changing priorities and shift patterns
• A basic understanding of infection control, COSHH, and compliance standards is desirable, though full training will be provided
