Job summary

A precision measurement solutions company in the East Midlands is seeking a CMM Build & Calibration Technician to join their production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly, calibration, and testing of highly accurate Coordinate Measuring Machines. Strong practical skills and the ability to read engineering drawings are essential, along with an electro/mechanical qualification or relevant experience. Qualifications

  • Experience in assembly and testing of CMMs.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong practical skills and proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out fitting, assembly, and testing of CMMs.
  • Check kits against bills of material.
  • Perform alignment and testing of assembled parts.
  • Conduct quality inspections according to standards.

Job description

We’re looking for a hands-on and quality-oriented CMM Build & Calibration Technician to join our busy and friendly Production Team at LK Metrology. In this role, you’ll build our globally renowned Coordinate Measuring Machines, helping some of the world’s biggest names in automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing achieve outstanding precision.

What You’ll Do
  • Carrying out fitting, assembly, and testing of our CMM’s
  • Checking that kits are complete and in line with bills of material
  • Alignment and testing of assembled parts
  • Quality inspection in accordance with processes and standards
  • Reading and understanding engineering drawings and/or electronic schematics
  • Testing & fault finding
  • Calibration and verification of CMM’s
  • Assembly and cleaning of components
What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a team player with strong practical skills and a proactive attitude. You should have:

  • An electro/mechanical qualification, or qualified by experience
  • Experience in the assembly of electro/mechanical equipment to engineering drawings
  • Previous experience working in a busy manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Basic computer skills

A knowledge of metrology would be highly advantageous but not essential.
