Position Summary

Position: Health & Safety Coordinator, Band 5

Hours: 37.5 per week. All MKUH roles considered for flexible working.

Location: Milton Keynes University Hospital, UK.

About the role

We are appointing a new Health & Safety Coordinator to support the Trust Health & Safety Team across the organisation. The role provides operational support to the daily functions of the Health & Safety department, including assistance with managing and monitoring standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety within the Board are adhered to. You will work closely with the Health & Safety Managers, Advisors, manual handling team and Estates team to provide administrative and daily functional support, co‑ordinate and deliver training on COSHH, risk management, Violence & Abuse and health & safety.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support and daily functional support to the Health & Safety department.
  • Coordinate and deliver training on Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), risk management, Violence & Abuse and health & safety.
  • Manage and monitor Health & Safety standards, processes, communications, training and systems.
  • Assist in implementing the Trust’s Health & Safety Agenda across the organisation.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to staff on health and safety matters.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience working in a hospital, or relevant health and safety role.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and risk management principles.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Desirable: familiarity with the RADAR/DATIX system.
  • Must be a UK resident; sponsorship not available.
