Health and Safety Manager (Development Role)

Overview
We are seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join us on a development pathway. This full-time, permanent role is designed to build technical competence and operational experience toward a Level 6 Health & Safety qualification over a two-year period.
Role and responsibilities
- Support the delivery and continuous improvement of the organisation’s Health & Safety strategy, embedding a positive safety culture and supporting compliance across operational areas.
- Manage safety in office environments, housing stock, repairs and maintenance, and contractor operations.
Development and qualifications
- Structured development role designed to build technical competence and operational experience over two years, including relevant professional membership.
- Work towards an appropriate Level 6 Health & Safety qualification (starting within the first 6 months of employment) with increasing responsibility as capability grows.
About you
- IOSH membership held with experience or exposure to health and safety, compliance, housing, property or operational risk environments.
- Basic knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and a commitment to structured development and training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage contractors and stakeholders and communicate with customers and colleagues.
- Experience in housing or property maintenance, supporting safety training or toolbox talks, using compliance systems, or contributing to safety improvement initiatives is desirable but not essential.
- Subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
- Current valid driving licence with an insured car.
