A leading NHS hospital in Cambridge is seeking a Locum Consultant in Restorative Dentistry for a 12-month role. The successful candidate will support the restorative needs of head and neck cancer patients, with a focus on multidisciplinary teamwork. Full registration with the GDC and CCST in Restorative Dentistry or nearing award is required. The role includes contributions to clinical governance and effective communication with medical teams.

Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant in Restorative Dentistry (7PAs) for a period of 12 months.
The successful candidate will work closely with medical and dental consultant colleagues, mainly supporting the restorative needs of head and neck cancer patients, including pre-radiotherapy assessments and hypodontia.
The service offers a multidisciplinary-team-based approach in head and neck oncology and cleft lip and palate and the department also works closely with consultants in the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery and Cancer services.
The combined department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics is supported by a full-time maxillofacial technician, who has special expertise in maxillofacial prostheses.
You will be fully registered with the GDC and ideally have a CCST in Restorative Dentistry or be within six months of award of CCST at the time of interview and/or you will have a Primary dental qualification with the General Dental Council (GDC). You will also be eligible for entry on the Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) at time of interview.
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013).
