Job summary

A leading education support organization is seeking an Employment Support Officer to help individuals overcome barriers to employment. This role involves providing tailored advice and coaching to job seekers, assessing their needs, and collaborating with employers to create job opportunities. Ideal candidates will have strong communication and IT skills, and an understanding of the challenges faced by disadvantaged individuals. Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective support.
  • Proficient in IT, especially Microsoft Office, to track and support individuals.
  • Experience in enabling roles is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Understanding barriers faced by disadvantaged individuals is crucial.
  • Ability to manage a caseload while maintaining service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized advice and support to job seekers.
  • Assess needs and develop progress-focused action plans.
  • Manage a caseload to understand individual aspirations.
  • Engage with employers to create job opportunities.
  • Ensure job assessments comply with safeguarding standards.
  • Provide coaching to help individuals adapt to their new roles.

Skills

Excellent communication skills
Proficient IT skills
Experience delivering support via SEQF or IPS model
Understanding of barriers faced by individuals with disabilities
Experience managing a significant caseload
