A community support organization is seeking a dedicated Youth Support Worker in Hastings to assist Rangatahi in realizing their potential. This full-time role involves helping young people navigate challenges, access essential services, and work towards independence. Key responsibilities include supporting young people's objectives, maintaining an active caseload, and fostering strong relationships with families. Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is looking for an experienced Youth Support Worker to join our dynamic Rangatahi team based in Heretaunga. This is a full‑time role, working Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (40 hours per week).
This role focuses on supporting young people receiving the Youth Payment (YP) and Young Parent Payment (YPP). You will help them navigate challenges, access support, and work towards employment and independence.
TToH is a Ngāti Kahungunu mandated, kaupapa Māori, values‑led organisation. For over 40 years, we’ve delivered quality health, social, education and community development services to whānau across the East Coast, from Māhia to Remutaka. Our approach is whānau‑centred, grounded in Te Ao Māori, and committed to achieving positive, long‑term outcomes.
Based at our Orchard Road site in Hastings and reporting to the Team Manager, you will work directly with Rangatahi and their whānau in the community. You'll support them to identify goals, access entitlements, connect to services, and transition into education, training, or employment. Your mahi will make a real difference in the lives of young people and their tamariki.
