Job summary

A leading flow control solutions provider in Glasgow is seeking a Coppersmith/Pipefitter to fabricate and weld pipework to specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in TIG, MIG, FCAW, and MMA processes, and must be able to work in a team under pressure. Valid right to work in the UK is essential. Qualifications

• Experience with fabrication and welding using TIG, MIG, FCAW, MMA.
• Trade test certificates from LRQA, DNV, etc. are beneficial.
• Ability to lift materials up to 30 kg.

GENERAL SUMMARY

The role of the Coppersmith/Pipefitter is to fabricate and weld pipework to drawing specifications and ensures that the pipework is identified to ensure traceability during the Non‑Destructive Testing process. Build and develop a close relationship with NDT department. Work to ASME 9 welding code.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Fabricate and weld pipework to drawing specifications and to planned schedule as directed by line manager
• Experienced in small to medium size fabrication of pipework, assemblies and structures.
• Working to WPSs, health and safety and welds up to X‑ray quality.
• Able to work in small team, with quality and time pressures, self‑motivated.
• Obtain materials from stores areas including manual lifting and handling to a max of 30 kg
• Internal relationships

• Material Deliveries
• Document Control

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• TIG, MIG, FCAW, MMA preferred.
• Existing trade test certificates LRQA, DNV, etc. beneficial.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Required daily to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, and see (specific close vision abilities are required to perform computer work)
• Required occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
• Required daily to use hands and fingers and arms to reach (to operate a computer and telephone)
>Required occasionally to lift and/or move objects that are light to moderate
• Required occasionally to travel (usually by air or road so may be required to sit for extended periods)

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Ability to work with moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, etc.)
• Ability to work in an open planned office / individual office
• Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods
• Ability to sit in a car or on a plane for extended periods
