JOB DESCRIPTION: SENIOR BUYER (PRODUCTION PROCUREMENT)

THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will hold global responsibility for specific commodities on behalf of Envisage. You will utilize your professional experience to analyse, define, and implement market and sourcing strategies for your designated commodities, leading the Global sourcing activity through the Global Sourcing Process (GSP) up to contract award (SCPA). This is a pivotal role acting as a core conduit for cross-functional working across Production Procurement, MP&L, STA, Product Engineering, Cost Engineering, and Manufacturing.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Sourcing
- Strategy Delivery: Responsible for the delivery of the Strategic Commodity Dossier (SCD) and Commodity Business Plan (CBP), ensuring data-driven strategic recommendations.
- Execution: Create and execute SCD/CBP to specific requirements, including supplier selection and risk assessments (Achilles Registration).
- Process Adherence: Ensure timely GSAD submissions and strict adherence to the GSP process and Envisage sourcing guidelines.
- Negotiation: Lead supplier negotiations and contracting with support from regional teams, including legal and financial approvals pre-SCPA.
- Capacity Planning: Collaborate with Capacity Planning Teams (CPT) to manage strategic constraints and ensure sufficient capacity at nomination.
Cost Management
- Financial Oversight: Drive strategic cost management across the Product Life Cycle.
- Target Achievement: Ensure robust cost model development to drive programme target alignment and deliver material cost (NCR) targets pre and post SCPA.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the key Procurement representative at Module Business Teams (MBT) to ensure alignment on quality, cost, delivery, and time.
- Gap Closure: Work with Regional Buyers and Cost Engineering to ensure strategic cost gap closure plans are actioned.
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
- Relationship Development: Lead the global development of supplier relationships for designated commodities in accordance with the supplier segmentation model.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct Supplier Business Reviews and maintain up-to-date briefing templates for senior stakeholder engagement.
- Risk Management: Manage supply chain risk post-SCPA, ensuring compliance with Envisage quality standards (EnvisageQ/Equivalent) and governmental regulations.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Level 4 (Expert): Analytical skills using Procurement tools, Development of strategies, Supplier management, Process Application.
- Level 3 (Proficient): Business & technical knowledge, Negotiation and contract management, Global Sourcing, Problem solving, Implementation of strategies, Project Management, Stakeholder management (Influencing/Collaboration).
