Job description

We are looking to fill a Mechanical Fitter/Technician position based within a commutable distance to Dundee. HUBER Technology is an ‘Investors in People’ Gold company that specialises in environmental engineering worldwide and operates a UK site in Chippenham focused on wastewater treatment solutions for the UK water industry. Reporting to the Regional Field Manager, you will be part of a small team responsible for servicing, installation and troubleshooting of HUBER machinery.

This role requires a skilled mechanical fitter/technician who is used to working from mechanical engineering drawings, ideally from a site M&E, plant maintenance or metal fabrication background. The position involves predominantly site work; a company van will be provided for travel (shared with one other colleague) and you may occasionally be required to work in other parts of the UK.

Your core responsibilities are as follows:

• Carry out site visits to undertake inspections or mechanical service/fitting work.
• Ensure that site work is carried out to a satisfactory standard and that all issues arising during the work are dealt with immediately and professionally.
• Manage the relationship with the client on site.
• Create site reports upon completion of work.
• Maximise time on site by liaising with the Regional Field Manager and internal colleagues to discuss technical or site issues and ensure work is completed satisfactorily.
• Work closely with suppliers and sub‑contractors.
• Actively participate in site and job preparation work.

Your profile:

• Completion of an apprenticeship scheme or an NVQ minimum Level 2 (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline with a minimum of four years’ experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with confidence to build relationships with clients and suppliers.
• Prior site experience or strong aspiration to move into a field‑based role.
• Advocate for health & safety and work safely at all times.
• Ability to weld, ideally with TIG welding experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
