Job Title: Citrix & Modern Workspace Consultant
Location: Chesterfield, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, London
Salary: £50,000- £65,000 (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time

Job Overview

We are looking to add a professional, and personable Modern Workspace Specialist to join our growing Professional Services team.

As a Modern Workspace Consultant at Proact, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and delivery across the design, implementation, migration, and optimisation of Modern Workspace solutions. This role will focus primarily on Citrix, Entra ID, Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Nerdio. The successful candidate will have skills and knowledge across these technologies.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working in a senior technical support or Project support role looking to take the next step into consultancy. You will already have deep hands‑on technical experience and are now ready to move into a role focused on design, delivery, customer engagement, and solution ownership.

You will work closely with customers, internal stakeholders, and project teams to design, implement, migrate, and optimise Modern Workspace environments, while continuing to develop your skills across other modern workspace technologies.

This is a UK‑based hybrid‑working role, with a requirement to attend a Proact office two days per week, and additionally as required for team collaboration, customer engagement, or delivery needs.

Due to the nature of customer environments, the successful candidate must have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last four (4) years and must be eligible to obtain SC and NPPV Level 3 (NPPV3) security clearance.

Job Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand their business needs and challenges related to Modern Workspace adoption
• Design, deploy and optimise Modern Workspace solutions using Citrix, Entra ID, Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Nerdio for automation, scaling, governance, and cost optimisation
• Provide technical expertise in the deployment, configuration, and optimisation of Modern Workspace and endpoint management solutions
• Develop and document detailed implementation, migration, and optimisation strategies
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Solution Architects, Sales teams, Service Delivery Managers and fellow consultants to ensure successful delivery outcomes
• Conduct assessments, health checks, and audits of customer environments, providing clear documentation with actionable recommendations
• Deliver face‑to‑face workshops and knowledge‑transfer sessions to customers and internal teams
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, providing ongoing guidance and support
• Proactively keep skills current through certification, self‑learning, and hands‑on delivery
• Continuously seek to improve delivery processes, documentation templates, and service quality

Desired Experience

• Experience architecting, delivering and supporting enterprise Modern Workspace solutions
• Experience with Citrix technologies, including Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) and supporting components, in either on‑premises or cloud‑hosted environments
• Good working knowledge of Citrix NetScaler (ADC), including basic configuration, troubleshooting, and an understanding of load balancing, authentication, and secure access concepts
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop and Nerdio for deployment, automation, optimisation, and management.
• Experience designing secure identity and access solutions using Conditional Access, MFA, and Zero Trust principles.
• Experience working in cloud‑first or hybrid environments.
• Good understanding of virtualised environments (preferably VMware, Hyper‑V, or Nutanix)
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals
• Experience working in enterprise IT or Professional Services environments.

Additional / Non‑Essential Skills

• Awareness or experience of Omnissa Workspace Platform (formerly VMware EUC), including Horizon or related digital workspace technologies
• Exposure to mixed Modern Workspace estates, supporting customers transitioning from Citrix or Omnissa platforms to Microsoft‑centric solutions such as Azure Virtual Desktop or Windows 365
• Ability to operate confidently in heterogeneous EUC environments, understanding where different workspace technologies best fit customer requirements. These skills are not mandatory but would be advantageous when supporting customers with legacy or hybrid End User Computing (EUC) platforms alongside Modern Workspace solutions.
