Job summary

A children's residential care provider in Seghill is seeking a Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for young people with learning difficulties. Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home (LD) – Seghill

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you’ll support the Registered Manager to deliver a safe, stable, nurturing home where young people can thrive. You’ll help lead the staff team, embed high standards of care and safeguarding, and ensure quality is consistent day-to-day.

You’ll also take responsibility for the staff rota (including your own shifts), alongside supporting supervision, practice development, and compliance with regulations and care standards.

Base Salary: £37,800 per annum

Sleeps: Occasionally, sleeps may be required, only if necessary due to on-shift staff being on Annual Leave (AL) or sick. Sleeps are paid at £52 on top of the base salary. A maximum of 4 to 6 sleeps are allowed.

Requirements

Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent)

Experience: Previous experience as a Deputy/Assistant Manager, or Senior Residential Support Worker within residential childcare

Driving Licence: Full, valid UK manual driving licence

Communication: Strong written and verbal English

IT Skills: Confident with IT and willing to develop further

Knowledge: Strong understanding of safeguarding, residential childcare legislation, and confidence supervising care teams
