Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Vergers' Team on a very part time basis for just 6 hours per week on a Sunday morning, with the option for additional paid overtime on other days.

The successful applicant will have primary responsibility for opening the Cathedral and preparation for services on Sunday mornings and, as a member of the vergers' team, will also have responsibility for ensuring that the Cathedral is presented in the very best way for worshippers, visitors and the general public in order to provide a safe and welcoming environment.

The salary is at the Real Living Wage which is currently £12.60 per hour but increasing to £13.45 per hour from 1 April 2026.
