Job description

Hours: Full Time - 37 Hours per week(Flexi Time)

Work Pattern: Monday to Friday

Location: South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Central Headquarters, 197 Eyre Street, Sheffield, S1 3FG / Agile working

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our People Function for an experienced organisational development professional to drive forward key priorities within our Culture Programme.

In this role, you will lead the implementation of our new organisation‑wide 360° Feedback process and oversee the launch and ongoing management of our staff engagement survey. You will also be responsible for monitoring progress against our Culture Action Plan, ensuring we deliver initiatives that reflect our vision, values, and commitment to a positive workplace culture. You will lead on elements of our Leadership and Management training delivery and contribute to building the confidence of our leaders through skills development. This is a chance to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to the development of our service.

To succeed, you will bring strong knowledge of Organisational Development (OD) interventions and a clear understanding of how culture underpins organisational effectiveness. You will have hands‑on experience delivering OD initiatives, including large‑scale surveys and the coordination and management of 360° and other feedback processes.

You will be CIPD‑qualified (or working towards a relevant qualification) and able to demonstrate a consistent track record of delivering programme objectives proactively and reliably. Highly motivated and organised, you will be confident in setting priorities, achieving key targets, and evaluating impact. The role requires a high degree of autonomy, drawing on your professional judgement and expertise to shape activity.

The role is based at our Central Headquarters in Sheffield, with opportunities for home working and an expectation of travel across all SYFR sites.

For more information about the role contact Fran Edmonds, Senior People Partner, Organisation Development via email on fedmonds@syfire.gov.uk.
