CITIC Pacific Mining is seeking an experienced Gas Pipeline/Mechanical Engineer to support our Power Plant Department. This role is offered as a permanent position on a 8/6 roster FIFO from Perth.

Reporting to the Superintendent – Mechanical (Gas Turbine), the purpose of this role is to provide engineering advice, expertise and guidelines for commissioning, operation, and maintenance in accordance with Australian Standards, industrial convention, practice and statutory requirements.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Reviewing the gas stations and facilities regular inspection & maintenance reports.
  • Performing analysis on gas system operation, diagnose faults and provide guidance on defect handling.
  • Liaising and coordinating with DMIRS, gas suppliers and contractors.
  • Providing technical guide and support as to OMT team’s requirement.
  • Developing process optimisation and performance improvement for the position scope.
  • Scheduling equipment maintenance and overhaul, develop scope of work and budget for outsourced contract.
  • Developing activities, procedure, acceptance inspection criteria for inspection and maintenance.
  • Reviewing equipment operation parameters and monitoring inspection data.

Successful applicant will have:

  • A current WA Manual Drivers Licence is essential.
  • Bachelor degree in Thermal Power Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years commissioning, operation, and maintenance experience
  • Minimum 3 years O&M experience in gas pipeline and gas stations
  • Minimum 1 year technical management experience in thermal power plant mechanical field
  • Knowledge of Australian standards/Industrial Convention, practices and statutory requirements relating to the position scope
  • Sound knowledge of thermal power engineering, mechanical engineering, and power plant process
  • Sound knowledge of gas pipelines cleaning, O&M for gas stations and auxiliary facilities, gas system Cathodic protection, Scrubber vessels, Odorant tank, Emergency Shutdown system, WBH
  • Sound knowledge of mechanical vibration, criteria, and balance on rotating machine
  • Sound knowledge of water and steam quality in boiler and steam turbine
  • Experience using relevant asset management software (SAP)
