The role

FlexEnable is currently seeking a n Instrumentation Control Engineer to join the O pt o E lectrical T est T eam . The main purpose of the role is to work as part of a small team providing support for optoelectronic testing of module and system units . This is a hands‑on, practical role, working alongside inquisitive, innovative and exceptional engineers and reporting into the Applications Director . The incumbent will be a key member of the test team, supporting the activities of the engineers within the team and proactively contributing to standardisation and continuous improvement of test routines .

The candidate

Responsibilities of the role:

• To develop, testandmaintainsoftware for instrument controland equipment.
• To integrate software with hardware components.
• To creating user interfaces for controlling and monitoring instruments.
• To debug and troubleshoot software/hardware asrequired.
• To work with team members to optimise the system performance.
• To document and controlsoftware.
• To potentially lead customer facing projects
• Toensure softwareand all associated working practicesadhere to health,safetyand quality standards.

Experience that will be utilised in the role :

• Experience in Python, MATLABand/or C#, SQL.
• Experience with instrument controlwithin a test laboratory or technical environment.
• Desirable to have database experience.
• Willingness tolearn and perform someoptoelectronics testing asrequired.
• Flexible approach to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
• The ability to meet deadlines.
• The ability to communicate in a professional, clear,preciseand effective manner-strong verbal and written communication skills.
