We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner with strong construction industry and employee relations experience to join our growing Smart Energy business. This is a hands‑on, operationally focused role, partnering closely with Site Managers, Trainers and colleagues across Realise.

Operating in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment, you will play a key role in supporting managers with creating a culture and working environment where our people thrive and develop, handling complex people matters, driving consistency, and ensuring pragmatic, legally compliant HR solutions that work on site.

You will also provide guidance to other teams across the Realise Group on employee relations, leading cases independently. If you have experience of working with people in gas, electrical, plumbing or renewables and enjoy being visible on site but equally comfortable working remotely, this role will suit you.

Key responsibilities
  • Act as a trusted HR partner to teams across multiple sites.
  • Coach and upskill managers in effective people management and ER best practice.
  • Lead and manage complex employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, absence, and capability issues.
  • Support workforce planning, mobilisation and demobilisation of projects, including TUPE where required.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives for site‑based and professional roles.
  • Work closely with Health & Safety teams to promote a strong safety and compliance culture.
  • Contribute to and/or lead on ER activity and other continuous improvement initiatives across the Realise Group.
Where will I be based?

This is a home‑based role, with travel required for site meetings and company events. Details will be discussed in your interview.

The Benefits
  • 25 days holiday plus public and bank holidays
  • Purchase scheme for up to 5 additional days annual leave
  • Birthday and Christmas Eve off
  • Flexible working
  • Health Shield scheme
  • Life insurance
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay
  • Sick pay
  • Bereavement leave
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • £1,000 Employee referral bonus scheme
About You
Essential
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor within the construction industry or a similar site‑based environment (e.g. gas, electrical, plumbing, renewables).
  • Strong, hands‑on employee relations experience with the confidence to manage complex and sensitive cases independently.
  • Solid knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application in an operational setting.
  • Experience supporting multi‑site or site‑based workforces.
  • Comfortable challenging and influencing managers at all levels.
  • A pragmatic, resilient, and solutions‑focused approach.
  • Agile, action‑orientated and quick thinker.
Desirable
  • Exposure to acquisitions, TUPE, project mobilisation/demobilisation.
  • Organisation Development – org design and change management.
  • CIPD Level 5 or above.
What Happens Next?
  • The Realise Recruitment team will be in touch, regardless of the outcome.
  • Our interview process is tailored to each role and can be in‑person or held remotely.
