This role involves planned maintenance and quick response to machine breakdowns in a scenic industrial environment. Ideal candidates will have an NVQ Level 3 in mechanical maintenance and experience in heavy industry, especially in fabrication and welding. Carrying out planned maintenance and repairs to mechanical equipment and infrastructure.
Reacting swiftly to breakdowns, implementing both temporary and permanent solutions to keep production moving.
Supporting safe systems of work, risk assessments, and high safety standards across the team.
Contributing to improvement initiatives, helping reduce downtime and boost efficiency.
Using welding, cutting, and fabrication skills to maintain key operational assets.
Supporting junior operatives and communicating effectively across site teams.
Conducting daily plant checks, reporting issues, and maintaining clean, hazard-free work areas.
Ideally anNVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in mechanical maintenance, with experience in a heavy industrial setting.
Skilled in fabrication, welding, and fault-finding across a range of plant and equipment.
Great team spirit and communication skills—you’ll be working with colleagues across production, maintenance, and leadership.
A good understanding of engineering drawings, safety systems, and preventative maintenance routines.
Experience with mobile plant (e.g. Loading Shovel, ADT) is a bonus—but not essential.
