• Experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in a similar environment.
• Ability to produce reports and develop policies.
• Strategic thinking and effective influencing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to health & safety legislation by reviewing and updating policies.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement measures to minimize risks.
• Perform health & safety audits and investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Review fire risk assessments and promote fire safety awareness.
• Develop and deliver training on health & safety best practices.
• Maintain records of incidents and produce reports to identify trends.
• Chair health & safety committees and ensure effective communication.
• Stay updated with health & safety legislation, advising senior management.
• Provide expert advice on health & safety queries to all staff levels.
• Collaborate with third-party assessors to take necessary action on findings.

Skills

Strong understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational and motivational skills

IT literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook

Education

Qualification in occupational health and safety, ideally level 6
