A leading hospital trust in England seeks a Radiology Physics professional to provide scientific and technical support for diagnostic imaging equipment such as X-ray and ultrasound systems. The role includes conducting quality control, supporting equipment commissioning, and participating in training staff. The successful candidate will work in a vibrant department, helping to maintain safety and compliance standards while contributing positively to the team culture.
Radiology Physics is part of the Department of Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering. The section has close working relationships with colleagues in Nuclear Medicine, Kent and Medway Communication and Assistive Technology (KM CAT) service and Medical Devices Governance team (MDGT). The department has links with local universities. We are a diverse, vibrant and dynamic department, well-integrated into the Trust and with representation and support at Care Group level.
We provide scientific, technical and regulatory support to X-ray, ultrasound and laser facilities across the Trust and the NHSBSP in East Kent.

We are based in modern, air‑conditioned accommodation with up-to-date desktop IT and video‑conferencing facilities, a training room and kitchen area.
This role involves carrying out scientific quality control, performance assessments, and safety checks on a wide range of diagnostic imaging equipment, including X‑ray and ultrasound systems. It includes supporting equipment commissioning, providing technical reports and scientific advice, contributing to radiation safety practices, and assisting in staff training. The post also supports departmental quality assurance through accurate record‑keeping, equipment management, software and data work, and participation in health and safety and ISO9001:2015 compliance activities.
