Your work will also support responses to parliamentary questions, OIA requests, and media inquiries, whilst contributing to continuous improvement and equity-focused initiatives.This is a unique opportunity to influence national health outcomes through evidence-based insights and collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.Through data analysis, we inform evidence-based decision-making, identify areas for improvement, enhance overall efficiency in the health system and provide accountability reporting to the public.**About you**With a background in data and analytics, you will have been responsible for delivering high quality, evidence-based, forward-focused insights using best practice approaches and methods. You will be committed to developing your analytical skills, and working within a broader team to produce, present and interpret data sets that support decision-makers. You will actively support and mentor other team members, sharing your knowledge to help build capability across the team.You will have:* Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Health Informatics) or 7–10 years' experience in intelligence analyst roles within large organisations* Knowledge of New Zealand hospital datasets* Advanced skills in PowerBI, SSRS, SQL, and/or SnowSQL* Proven skills and knowledge in data manipulation/exploration, visualisation, and insight analysis* Good understanding of data management, data warehouse or cloud data platforms* Leadership experience and coaching skills including strong collaboration and relationship building* Strong communication skills with an ability to interpret technical requirements* Ability to produce and design best Business Intelligence solution for customers.* An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in healthPreferred experience also includes:* Some knowledge or experience in Python or R* Advanced Analytics skills (predictive analytics, forecasting, modelling)* Experience in low-code or no-code BI tools or PBI service administration**Working at Health New Zealand**Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
