Responsibilities
- Operational responsibilities include regulatory oversight of UK WSB CPLE horizon scanning and regulatory implementation oversight activities, acting as the primary contact for enquiries, delivering team-specific regulatory developments reviews, impact analyses, communications and implementation responsibilities in line with LRCC Terms of Reference and the UK WSB CPLE Regulatory Developments Framework, in collaboration with Legal, CPLE and BU/SU stakeholders.
- Manage daily regulatory horizon scanning activities related to regulatory rules and guidance, enforcement actions, discussion and consultation papers, letters, market standards and codes, supervisory statements and policy statements, using sources such as UK regulators, law firms, trade associations, subscription services, LRCC discussions.
- Analyse and articulate the impacts and risks of regulatory developments on the UK WSB business models, processes and control frameworks; propose actions with CPLE subject matter experts and other functions; deliver read-across analyses and CPLE team training on major regulatory publications.
- Present regulatory developments analyses to CPLE advisors and committees (e.g., Regulatory Developments Review) and manage the execution and closure of CPLE-specific regulatory developments.
- Support CPLE and BU/SU stakeholders with regulatory rule interpretations and implementation advice; participate in industry working groups; issue succinct, firm-centric reports on publications to impacted stakeholders.
- Plan and coordinate submissions for quarterly UK WSB Compliance Committee (ComCo) updates; ensure consistency and avoid repetition across materials; present CPLE-specific regulatory developments with impacts, risks, concerns, recommendations and next steps.
- Support the development of the annual Mandatory Normative Documentation (MND) Roadmap in line with policy triggers from regulatory developments.
- Maintain the framework of regulations and SMF domain mappings to support UK WSB entities’ compliance with the UK regulatory system, aligning with LRCC and Regulatory Developments Framework considerations.
- Maintain the UK WSB Permissions Governance Framework and coordinate the annual Regulatory Permissions (RPs) review and attestation process.
- Administer and oversee regulatory reporting for SGLB, including oversight of the SGLB List of Regulatory Reports and timely submission of reports via REGDATA.
- Support the SMCR-related component of the RCO team by carrying out day-to-day SMCR processes and ensuring data integrity for employee Certifications and related records.
- Provide ongoing support to ensure an effective SMCR Compliance model.
- Represent UK WSB CPLE in committees or forums as agreed and report material matters to the Head of UK RCO and ROCG Pillar Lead.
- Support the Head of UK RCO and ROCG Pillar Lead to ensure UK SGIL activities align with the UK WSB CPLE model, under the applicable Service Level Agreement.
Qualifications
- Core Competencies & Technical Skills
- A clear understanding of UK financial services regulation (PRA & FCA) and solid knowledge of UK Wholesale Banking business models.
- A strong regulatory background with experience in policy management, regulatory oversight and stakeholder management.
- Ability to review and interpret complex financial regulation, conduct full impact assessments and communicate results pragmatically to stakeholders across all levels.
- Ability to issue risk-based compliance challenges and provide solution-focused advice.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across Compliance and Business Lines to achieve optimal outcomes.
- A self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic, accountability and ownership of actions.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with keen attention to detail; flexible and adaptable in approach.
- Ability to drive continuous improvements in day-to-day processes, leveraging technology where appropriate.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with experience in Management Information reporting and timely issue escalation.
- Legal training or a professional qualification in Compliance, Finance or Accounting is beneficial.
