Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Part Time Driver (20 hours per week) with previous healthcare experience to facilitate patient transport service needs of the hospital as and when required.

Please note you need to have a D1 licence to drive the minibus.

Due to policies you need to be 21 years old or over and to have held a full UK driving licence for over 24 months.

Long Eaton Day Services specialises in supporting individuals with a learning disability, complex health needs, physical disabilities and autism.

You will be working 20 hours a week, split shifts Monday – Friday with 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.

You will be responsible for ensuring the company vehicle is refuelled, checked before departure and after return, kept clean inside and out, and that any faults or damage are reported.

Main duties of the job

• Hold a valid full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points and be able to drive an automatic vehicle.
• Extensive experience of driving in cities and motorways, both day and night.
• Ideally have previous healthcare experience.
• Be able to navigate using sat‑nav or maps.
• Be able to plan and keep to a schedule.
• Be physically fit for getting in and out of vehicles and for loading and unloading.
• Be willing to work unsupervised.
• Have good customer‑service skills to work in partnership with escorting clinical staff and colleagues.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary: £12.60 per hour.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check, and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
