Document Controller - Havant Thicket

Overview
Portsmouth Water is seeking a proactive and detail‑driven Document Controller to support the delivery of the Havant Thicket Reservoir project. Working closely with the HTR Lead Document Controller, project team and key contractors, this role ensures the smooth flow, quality and accuracy of project information, maintains robust information‑management processes and supports effective coordination across stakeholders.
What you will be doing
- Monitor the client contract administration system and interactions with contractor‑provided Common Data Environment.
- Flag document issues and closely monitor progress in workflow procedures, expediting comment returns to contractors where required.
- Assist with the production of reports as required.
- Audit projects and documents to ensure adherence to the processes within the project management plan and Information Management Plan.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with all contractor document controllers.
- Support and manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) (Autodesk Construction Cloud).
- Support and assist with management of HTR SharePoint.
- Attend related weekly meetings to update on progress of documentation.
- Provide holiday cover for the HTR Lead Document Controller as required.
- Liaise with internal Portsmouth Water departments to support and share project information back with the business.
- Co‑locate between site offices as required.
What we expect
- Proven document control experience in a construction environment using electronic document management systems/common data environments.
- Ability to communicate, engage and support all members of the project team.
- Polite and confident manner.
- Good organisation and self‑management skills.
- Resilience and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Willingness to share and discuss ideas for improving existing processes.
- Good analytical skills, with the ability to review documents and provide constructive recommendations.
- Full Clean UK Driving Licence.
- Experience in document management in a construction or water industry environment.
