Job summary

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. The Document Controller plays a critical role in supporting the Document Manager by ensuring that all project documentation is effectively managed, controlled, and distributed in line with contractual, regulatory, and quality standards.

Their role will align to industry best practice (ISO 19650 (BS1192) & 19001) and existing policy practice within UKAEA and they will need to have a strong understanding of Export Control licensing.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Receive, check, issue and classify incoming and outgoing project documentation, including export control (PECRO) compliance
  • Upload and distribute document according to project’s distribution matrix, and return comment sheets to contractors/vendors.
  • Verify that the documents comply with project standards, templates and naming conventions (e.g. check the correctness of document title block, coding, etc.).
  • Manage version control and ensure only the latest revisions are issued and distributed.
  • Maintain auditable record in line with contractual, regulatory and ISO requirements
  • Distribute the documents to the project team, stakeholders or contractors in a timely manner
  • Support project reviews, audits and reporting with accurate document registers (MIDP)
  • Act as Primary point of contact for all document control queries within the project.

£42,858 (inclusive of Specialist Allowance) + excellent benefits including outstanding pension

  • Educated to HND level with relevant and extensive experience of a document management system.
  • Proven experience as a document controller in large scale projects (Engineering, Construction, Nuclear preferred).
  • Strong knowledgeable on ISO 19650 & 19001
  • Knowledgeable on NEC4 contracts and Export Control Licensing.
  • Good understanding of the importance of audit trails for all project documentation through the lifecycle of the project.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage workload, priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of end of project handover and archiving
  • Educated to Degree standard or equivalent qualifications. Extensive experience of ASITE at administrator level, SharePoint and Excel.
  • Document Control or project management certification (e.g., AMP, EDMS training)
