Are you ready to take the next step in your career and have the ability to support the implementation of maternity related digital systems and provide training and support to others both on a one to one and in classroom settings? If so this may be the post for you.

Please note this post will have an element of cross site working across the Ormskirk and Whiston sites.

Main duties of the job

The Digital Midwife is responsible for providing first line day to day management of the Maternity Information System, Newborn & Infant physical Examination programme (NIPE) and Medway electronic patient record (EPR).

The post holder is a practising midwife working within Maternity Services and is therefore able to identify opportunities to expand and improve the use of the Maternity Information System. They will coordinate and integrate in to clinical care the various facets of the system ensuring safe clinical practice occurs by all users.

Has responsibility for ensuring all staff are trained and competent in the use of the various systems used to record care within Maternity Services. He/she works closely with the Matron for Maternity Services, Clinical Lead Midwives, IT and Information Departments to ensure new systems and upgrades are implemented smoothly within the Department. He/ she will provide ongoing support for staff using the system.

The post holder will work clinically across the Maternity Service to maintain own competence and credibility and will participate in the Maternity bleep rota.
