Job description

Company Description Systemiq is a system change company and certified B Corp, driving the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement on climate change. We work across five critical systems—energy, nature and food, materials and circular economy, sustainable finance, and urban transformation—to deliver real, lasting impact. We believe systems change starts with people change. That means curiosity, collaboration, and inclusion are at the heart of how we work.

Since our start in 2016, we have grown to more than 300+ people working across locations in Brazil, Germany, France, Indonesia, Netherlands, UK and the US. We are a pure-play sustainability-focused company, dedicated exclusively to sustainability projects.

We are looking for a Digital Communications Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and editing content to help Systemiq communicate effectively its work to drive systems change to a range of different stakeholders, across different global markets.

The ideal candidate is a communications professional with excellent, demonstrable writing skills who understands the power of storytelling. The candidate will have previous experience working for organisations to grow their online presence and creatively reaching new audiences in global markets. The candidate will manage Systemiq’s LinkedIn channel and website as well as producing content to go on these channels.

The role will require the ability to work to deadlines and be detail-oriented whilst understanding the broader context and complexity within which Systemiq operates. We are looking for a team player who will develop strong working relationships with the teams in London and beyond and effectively across time zones. You should also be a self-starter who can make an impact quickly and be confident developing and leading specific communications campaigns, especially around high visibility climate moments (like London Climate Action Week, New York Climate Week and COP) with great levels of autonomy.

Responsibilities
  • Write, edit and publish content for Systemiq’s website and LinkedIn channel, understanding complex information and tailoring it for relevant audiences with SEO friendly structure and messaging.
  • Support the Digital Communications and Social Media Lead on maintaining the digital content calendar which is integrated with Systemiq’s broader communications plan.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to plan and develop effective digital engagement plans and stand-alone campaigns with a focus on delivering impact.
  • Produce content (graphics, video, infographics) for Systemiq’s LinkedIn channel.
  • Support the Digital Communications and Social Media Lead’s work to upskill and encourage staff to develop their voices on LinkedIn in sharing the impact of Systemiq’s work.
  • Develop social media plans to support the launch of key reports and in the lead up to high visibility key climate moments i.e. NY Climate Week and COP.
  • Oversee LinkedIn Analytics to evaluate impact of content shared and improve performance.
  • Implement SEO best practice on the Systemiq website.
  • Work with other Systemiq comms colleagues to provide social and digital media expertise into broader comms programmes.
  • Proven work experience in digital communications, including managing social media channels with a B2B focus and website management, ideally for an international organisation.
  • Excellent writing skills for social and digital formats and content production skills for social-friendly graphics and video (Canva, Photoshop, CapCut, Premiere Pro).
  • Proven ability to communicate on complex technical and economic topics to an audience of non-specialists.
  • Excellent communicator who can engage with colleagues, member organisations and third-party influencers.
  • Hands‑on experience with WordPress.
  • Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics.
  • Experience of delivering global campaigns.
  • Experience of paid promotional activity on LinkedIn.
  • Knowledge or awareness of issues in the broader sustainability/energy/climate sector.
  • Basic technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing.
  • Experience working in a collaborative organisation (e.g. coalitions / partnerships).
  • Experience interacting with senior executives.
  • Experience working in an international environment and across time zones.
