You will be responsible for:

• Effectively planning and coordinating mechanical activities to ensure the safety, availability, reliability and performance in the development area of the mine, particularly on Joy 12CM30 miners, Sandvik MB650 miners, Joy 10SC42 shuttle cars, Joy FCT, Joy DMU and Joy FB14 feeder breakers.
• Maintaining and improving an equipment maintenance strategy through monitoring maintenance reports and trends and compliant to with Ulan West’s high standards and industry regulations.
• Contributing to the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives regarding development mechanical engineering systems and procedures on site.
• Coordinate and supervise mechanical teams and subcontractors.
• Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Providing technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical issues.

You will be an integral part of the development team, report directly to the Senior Mechanical Engineer and indirectly to the development superintendent. In addition, you will have mechanical supervisors and mechanical trades reporting to you.

As the successful applicant you will:

• Hold a Diploma or Bachelor qualifications in engineering (Mechanical) or have a mechanical trade qualification and a commitment to furthering your qualifications to Diploma or Bachelor level.
• Have relevant industry experience in Development
• Be comfortable with Microsoft Suite Applications, particularly Excel and Project.
• Be focussed on ensuring Safe Work Practices are followed for mechanical tasks.
• Lead by example and prioritise mentoring trades and apprentices.
