Deputy Shift Manager - Nights

Responsibilities
- Support shift management to effectively manage the production and warehouse operation of the Andover Site during the shift.
- Support the business to achieve high quality, low cost manufacture, attaining production plan while meeting customers’ service, audit and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively manage day‑to‑day issues and activities of Associates and operators on shift.
- Assist the Shift Manager to ensure the shift is managed effectively, deputizing as appropriate.
- Support specific improvement activities identified by Plant and Shift Managers.
- Work closely with key stakeholders such as Technical, Sanitation, Engineering, R&D and Planning to ensure an efficient and effective operation.
- Ensure products manufactured are safe, legal and comply with customers’ quality standards.
This role is night shift working Sunday to Thursday 10 pm to 6 am.
- Ensure a safe working environment for all associates across the site and during shift.
- Embed food safety, hygiene and quality standards as appropriate to drive a quality food manufacturer, meeting Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs) and legislative requirements.
- Utilise operations capabilities—production, warehouse and sanitation—to meet plan attainment requirements.
- Deliver operation’s KPIs including OEE measures that meet/exceed company standards, customer and legislative requirements and current business needs.
- Support the Shift Manager in operational cost management, seeking opportunities to improve efficiencies and minimise costs.
- Support the growth and development of a team of highly engaged, high‑performing associates focusing on skill improvement and development.
- Support effective management in line with Company policies and procedures, manage Associate life cycle activities such as absence and disciplinary actions as deemed appropriate by the Shift Manager.
- During the shift will be responsible for production, warehouse, etc., as directed by Shift Manager.
- Act as the right hand to the Shift Manager, forming a cohesive management unit on shift.
- Be able to deputise for the Shift Manager.
- Perform any other duties as deemed appropriate by the senior team.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Critical
- Experience in production.
- Track record of managing large operational functions or whole autonomous sites.
- Demonstrable knowledge of operating production, ideally including warehouse and sanitation.
- Proven ability to take ownership of delivery of results.
- Ability to manage and motivate large diverse teams.
- Knowledge of how to manage and lead factory and warehouse.

- Food manufacturing experience.

- Understanding of commercial and financial aspects of business and strategically applying this to operations.
- Bakery manufacturing knowledge and experience.
- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics D365.
- IOSH/NEBOSH certificate level.
