Brief Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting apprenticeship opportunity in the area of Health, Safety and Environment? We are looking to recruit an assistant to the Depot Services Manager to ensure the site is legal and compliant to all Health & Safety, Environmental and Food Safety legal and company standards in support of our businesses wider Environmental, Social and Governance strategy.

Job Description:

• Assisting the Depot Services Manager in the review of current policies and procedures and having the initiative to seek approval to amend, driving change where needed.
• Deliver and co-ordinate Health, Safety & Environment and Food Standards and compliance related events/induction to update management team and new employees.
• Liaise & monitor facilities contractors while they are on site, e.g. pest control, waste contractor, environmental contractors and ensure any actions resulting are completed
• Dealing with assurance and compliance issues in the depot that require immediate attention and resolution and understanding when to escape.
• To assist with assessing areas of depot risk and being proactive to find resolution before escalation.
• Complete all daily, weekly & monthly checks including fire, emergency lighting, legionella, asbestos, ammonia, PPE, pest, cleaning schedules, security, Sematics, food standards checks & COSSH assessments.
• Deliver and co-ordinate Health, Safety & Environment and Food Standards and compliance related events/induction to update management team and new employees.
• Leading by example as well as Influencing staff within the depot to ensure they follow processes and standards.
• Monitor and manage depot storage temperatures with the warehouse management team.
• Provide regular reports to the management team of overdue and due soon compliance training and ensures the timely completion of training.
