Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for providing chair-side assistance to a Dentist/Dental Specialist/Hygienist
• You will assist with administrative tasks such as entering/updating patient records, as well as other duties as required
• You will assisting in the promotion of oral health to patients
• You will ensure compliance with all relevant standards and procedures, including accordance with Defence Policies & Procedures
• You will contribute to the cleanliness and effectiveness of a dental surgery environment and maintaining optimal hygiene of the surgery

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting or nationally recognised equivalent qualification
• Demonstrated compliance with relevant standards and procedures
• Minimum of 2 years’ (full time equivalent) chair-side experience within the last 5 years
• Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities
• Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification

Please note:

• You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
• You don’t need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.

About ADF Health Services

In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on-base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.

About Edinburgh

Edinburgh Health Centre is located 25km North of Adelaide, at RAAF Base Edinburgh. This super-base accommodates 3500 personnel from the Australian Army and RAAF, as well as being home to the RAAF Institute of Aviation Medicine. The health centre operates a 16 bed low dependency ward 24/7. It also provides primary medical, aviation medical, nursing, dental, physiotherapy, mental health, pharmaceutical and rehabilitation services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).
