Decontamination Unit Trainer
Circle Decontamination - Aylesford
37.5 Hours & Permanent
Salary: Up to £28,500.00 per year
(depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across England and Glasgow. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required.

We have an opportunity for a Unit Trainer to join their team of staff in theDecontaminationdepartment.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

  • Deliver training programmes for decontamination staff, ensuring consistency and alignment with national and corporate standards.
  • Provide effective “hands-on” training to ensure staff competency and confidence in sterile services and endoscopy reprocessing.
  • Carry out competency reviews, assessments, and revalidation of staff skills to ensure safe practice.
  • Provide professional and teaching supervision, coaching, and mentoring to develop both new and experienced staff.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging continuous professional development across the unit.
  • Work closely with management teams to embed training into operational performance and quality frameworks.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Strong organisational and planning skills, able to prioritise effectively in a busy operational environment.
  • Proven experience delivering training or teaching sessions.
  • Sound knowledge of sterile services and endoscopy reprocessing.
  • Awareness of decontamination legislation, standards, and best practice.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use blended learning approaches to meet different learner needs.
  • Proficiency with IT systems, Microsoft Office, and electronic learning platforms.
