Salary: £31,236 per annum (annual increment up to £37,694 per annum)

Position: Database Programmer (Ref: TC939)

Department: Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Norwich Clinical Trials Unit, Norwich Medical School

About the Role

The Norwich Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is looking for a fast‑learning, technically literate Database Programmer to support the delivery of externally funded research studies. You will work within the Data Management (DM) team, under the supervision of the Head of Data Management, and collaborate with investigators and research teams to design, conduct, analyse and report high quality clinical trials and other studies that align with the research strategies of NRP partners including NNUH and UEA.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain data solutions for randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and other ethically approved studies.
  • Support the delivery of data management activities for externally funded research studies.
  • Work with investigators and research teams to design and analyse clinical trials.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues related to clinical data systems.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in developing data solutions for RCTs or similar studies.
  • Proficiency in database design, data integration, and data quality assurance.
  • Strong technical literacy and self‑motivated learning ability.
  • Interest in clinical trials and health research.
