Job Purpose

Do you have a qualified technical background that can be applied to domestic property? Do you have a comprehensive knowledge of the mandatory and statutory requirements for social housing property safety? Do you have a background of managing contractors?

As the Cyclical & Compliance Officer for Queens Cross Housing Association, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that we comply with our legal obligations in relation to tenant safety and cyclical maintenance. While social housing experience is advantageous it is not essential – we are looking for candidates with that understand the technical aspects of gas safety and water safety. Additional areas could include lift safety, electrical safety or fire safety.

You will
  • Ensure that we understand and deliver our legal obligations for tenant property safety.
  • Manage our gas and legionella contractors. Gas Safe registration is desirable, but not essential.
  • Assist in the organisation and management of cyclical maintenance.
  • Build relationships and influence decision-making to enhance service delivery.
  • Be comfortable implementing digital solutions and using software systems.
  • Have excellent communication skills to engage with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Essential criteria
  • Minimum of three years’ experience delivering a repairs and maintenance service within a customer-focused environment.
  • Hold, or be working towards, an appropriate qualification (HND equivalent) in a relevant repairs and maintenance discipline or trade.
  • Proven ability to carry out internal and external property inspections, accurately assessing and specifying required repair works.
  • Strong technical knowledge of maintenance policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements relating to domestic properties (e.g. gas, electricity, asbestos, legionella).
  • Experience in managing and controlling compliance areas such as asbestos, electrical safety, lift safety, or water safety.
