A fire and rescue service is seeking a Crew Manager - Training Delivery Instructor based at Exeter Airport Training Academy. This temporary role involves delivering training on Breathing Apparatus and supporting Maritime training. 1 x Temporary Crew Manager to join the Academy as Training Delivery Instructor, based atour Exeter Airport Training Academy. On a Fixed Term Contract for up to 18 months (with the potential to become permanent).
1 x Temporary Crew Manager to join the Academy as Training Delivery Instructor, based atour Exeter Airport Training Academy. On a Fixed Term Contract for up to 7 months, to cover a period of maternity leave.
Successful candidates will be required to attend the following courses:
Firelighter course - 10/02/2026 (Internally Academy Airport)
BAI - 23/02/2026 - 27/02/2026 (External)
CFBTI - 01/06/2026 - 12/06/2026 (External)
PPVI - 09/03/2026 - 13/03/2026 (Internally Academy Airport)
These positions are aligned to the day duty system (DDS) and will attract a 12% training allowance, payable following a period of development in post.
About the Crew Manager Training Delivery Instructor role:
The posts will be focused primarily on Breathing Apparatus and to support Maritime training delivery.
Where required there will be the need to support training delivery at Severn Park and other locations across the Service.
The role will require you to develop and maintain, through continuous professional development (CPD), your ability to deliver.
You will be expected to support Academy Watch Managers to ensure training materials are current and compliant with National Operational Guidance.
You will need to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both orally and in writing, including preparing reports and evaluations, giving presentations and leading training sessions.
