Creative Technologist (WebGL / Three.js)

Overview

Powster is a Creative Studio based in London and Los Angeles. We specialize in creating world-class interactive digital experiences and marketing campaigns for major movie studios, broadcasters, music artists, brands and streamers. Our work ranges from high-concept websites and large-scale video productions to immersive AR experiences and cutting-edge interactive activations. To keep our culture of collaboration strong, this role requires you to come into the office in Hackney Wick on Tuesdays & Thursdays.

What You'll Do

• Interactive, immersive Web development: lead creative website builds and demonstrate technical excellence in front of leading movie industry brands
• Technical discovery & ideation: collaborate with the Creative Team on concepts, proposing the best technical solutions for each idea
• Independent ownership: lead the complete development lifecycle from development/QA to project activation
• R&D: drive R&D with the Labs team to bring latest technologies and innovation to Powster Creative Activations
• Team mentorship & knowledge-sharing: mentor engineers and share expertise

Requirements

• Proven creative development experience: minimum 4+ years as a Software Engineer in WebGL / AR development
• Portfolio: a creative portfolio demonstrating a range of experience
• Technical stack: in-depth knowledge with ThreeJS/WebAR/WebGL/8th Wall or similar; comfortable with Node.js / React
• AI experience: knowledge or experience with ML models/libraries (TensorFlow, Stable Diffusion, OpenAI, etc.) for AI-driven activations
• Fullstack: ability to navigate between backend and frontend architectures
• Creative flair: strong eye for design and translating static designs into interactive experiences
• Communication: ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Technology focus: ongoing self-improvement and building projects for personal benefit

Nice-to-Haves

• 3D experience: exposure to Unreal, Blender or other 3D software (bonus)
• DevOps: experience with Cloud Infrastructure (preferably AWS)
