Overview

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse with relevant qualifications and experience in acute mental health. The role is based in Newcastle Emlyn, Ceredigion and involves working within a multi‑disciplinary team that undertakes comprehensive assessment, care coordination under the Mental Health Measure (Wales) 2010 and close collaboration with Hywel Dda, statutory services and third sector services to provide appropriate care for all service users.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Undertake initial comprehensive assessment of people accessing the service and conduct risk and management assessment within the context of Crisis Treatment Programme.
  • Provide crisis intervention, home treatment and home treatment follow‑up, ensuring timely management of time and prioritisation of workload for effective service delivery.
  • Travel between sites promptly and work closely with wider mental health services, statutory and third sector partners to support people through recovery.
  • Maintain communication with a Welsh‑speaking population and support bilingual care where desirable.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Significant experience working in an acute adult mental health setting.
  • Sound knowledge of current mental health issues, crisis intervention and home treatment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
  • Desirable: Ability to speak Welsh; English and Welsh speakers are equally welcome.
