About the role
Join ONSIDE and discover the role as a Community Mental Health Link Worker and work within an organisation and be part of team of professionals working closely with the Wyre Forest or Malvern Mental Health Neighbourhood Teams, to support individuals experiencing severe and enduring mental ill health (which may include Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Psychosis & Personality Disorders) by signposting and linking them up to all elements of treatment and support in a non-clinical environment.
This is a key role in providing individuals with support through their recovery journey during secondary mental health care. A Community Mental Health Link Worker helps individuals by providing coordination and navigation of both primary and secondary mental health services, local health and social care and wider community options.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a resilient person who has experience of working positively, supporting in a personal or professional capacity with individuals with severe and enduring mental ill health. Someone who is effective in building trust and maintaining professional boundaries will also be key for this role.
It is essential for a Community Mental Health Link Worker to have an understanding and knowledge on the impact poor mental health can have on a person’s life and the complex social and emotional challenges they may face. Along with the ability and resilience to provide high quality and continuous support to the individuals supported within the Community Mental Health service.
A Community Mental Health Link Worker will need great communication and organisation skills and can be someone who has experience of mentoring or coaching and may have experience in facilitating one-to-one and group support.
