Commercial Director – Data Centres (Nordics)

Role Overview

Play a key role delivering tech‑sector mega‑projects. We are looking for an experienced Commercial Director to lead the delivery of one of our largest data‑centre construction projects in the Nordics. The successful candidate will be based either 100% in country or will travel significantly (approximately 50/50) between Norway and Finland.

Responsibilities
  • Managing large projects or complex work streams, delivering defined outputs that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Line‑management responsibility for the development and performance management of other team members to support Arcadis’ business growth.
  • May supervise teams of Cost and Commercial Specialists on multiple projects.
  • Act as the primary client contact for all cost and commercial reporting and quality assurance.
  • Review team work outputs before submission to client and external groups.
  • Maintain a demonstrable understanding of the client’s key objectives.
  • Assure compliance with contracts in terms of project delivery parameters and scope of service.
  • Use own knowledge and experience of industry best practice to support the development of current cost and commercial management systems and processes.
  • Work to continually improve services and drive innovation.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management).
  • Relevant professional certification (e.g., RICS, AACE or similar).
  • Extensive previous experience in a similar role.
  • In‑depth technical knowledge, including construction processes and cost & commercial management.
  • Experience leading smaller projects and supporting larger, more complex projects.
  • Experience delivering analysis and insights.
  • Experience working closely with external stakeholders to build client relationships.
  • Experience managing business relationships and supporting mid‑management level activities.
