Job summary

A leading manufacturing company in Upton is seeking a CNC Turner/Programmer to manufacture high-quality components from a variety of materials. Responsibilities include reading engineering drawings, setting up and operating CNC Lathes, and maintaining a tidy work environment. Candidates should have strong attention to detail and preferably manual turning skills. CNC Turner/Programmer

Aerotech Precision Manufacturing Ltd 4, Upton Industrial Estate, 4A Factory Rd, Upton, Poole BH16 5SJ

Due to an increasing Order Book, we at Aerotech are seeking to engage another CNC Turner/Programmer to join our team.

The position involves.

  • Manufacturing high quality components from a range of materials e.g. Aluminium, Stainless Steels, occasionally some exotic materials and plastics.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, STEP files and technical diagrams
  • Set and operate 2, and 3 axis CNC Lathes. We are also looking at expanding to a mill turn system.
  • Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment at all times
  • Liaising with managers and shop floor staff to highlight any technical issues or potential risks
  • Help drive technology and cutting‑edge manufacturing techniques

The following skills and experience would be an advantage.

  • Time served machinist, preferred but not essential city and guilds in mechanical manufacturing engineering or equivalent
  • Manual Turning skills would be desirable
  • CAD/CAM experience is desirable although training can be provided
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible approach to workload and business needs
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Use of Fanuc and/or XYZ controllers
