Location: Nasmyth Bulwell LTD, Wharf Road, Industrial Estate, Pinxton, Nottinghamshire, NG16 6LE

Job type: Full Time/Permanent

Salary: £13.71 - £16.70 plus shift premium x1.25

Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week

Start & finish times: AM/PM shift

Mon – Thurs: 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm (Rotating shift); Fri: 6am-11.30am or 11.30am-5pm (Rotating shift)

Summary of role:

We are seeking two skilled CNC Millers to support the manufacture of next-generation aeroplane engine components, requiring experience in 4/5 Axis CNC milling, precision engineering, high-value and exotic materials, strong communication skills, and a good working knowledge of quality standards in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Working within the company Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) framework.
  • Contributing to the site HSE culture of improving our working environment through maintaining a safe and organised working area (5S).
  • Performing basic maintenance checks and actions on equipment as part of a daily routine.
  • Following manufacturing methods and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain product conformance and traceability.
  • Performing component quality checks using calibrated measuring equipment.
  • Working to achieve standard operating times.
  • Setting and operating multiple machines where required.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement within manufacturing methods and supporting implementation.
  • Working to achieve the cell production plan.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in other departments to support achievement of Customer and Company targets, objectives, and goals.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Participation in the company employee development programme.
  • Training and mentoring of apprentices.
  • Transferring knowledge to team members.
Role Requirements:
  • Motivated by the prospect of supporting the manufacture of next generation aeroplane engine components.
  • Happy to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Comfortable with change and a flexible approach to working.
  • Mechanical Apprentice trained or qualified by experience in 4/5 Axis CNC Milling.
  • Previous experience in Precision Engineering ideally in Aerospace, Automotive, Motorsport, Oil & Gas or Subcontract machining.
  • Experience working with High Value component or exotic materials including but not limited to Titanium, Inconel, and Hardened Steel.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external parties at all levels.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, with guidance and supervision.
  • Good working knowledge of Quality Standards.
