Key Responsibilities of the CNC Machinist
  • Set, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines, pillar drills, and lathes.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure components meet specifications.
  • Use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and verniers to check and maintain quality standards.
  • Work with a range of materials including ferrous metals, non‑ferrous metals, plastics, and copper.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and safety at all times.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve technical or machining issues.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organised.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from technical/engineering drawings.
  • Hands‑on experience operating CNC milling machines, pillar drills, and lathes.
  • Skilled in the use of measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, verniers, etc.).
  • Experience working with a variety of materials (ferrous, non‑ferrous, plastics, copper).
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement.
