The Inspires service is part of the national Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway and comprises of 4 services within HMP Swinfen Hall: a Psychologically Informed Planned Environment (PIPE), a residential treatment (Delta Enabling Environment), a non‑residential treatment service (NRTS) and an Enhanced Support Service (ESS) working with service users housed across the prison. Our service users, who are aged between 18 and 28, have histories of trauma and complex presentations.
We are looking for 2 Clinical Leads for our residential treatment Service (DEE) and our PIPE services. Our treatment service provides long‑term psychological interventions for 30 service users who reside on a dedicated prison wing. Our PIPE service provides a psychologically informed environment to support prisoners who are either accessing psychological intervention or have recently completed psychological interventions. This is an exciting opportunity for two experienced Psychologists or Psychotherapists to lead a successful, and innovative service working with young adults in prison. The successful candidate will join a large, multi‑disciplinary team providing outstanding opportunities for professional development. You will also benefit from being part of NHFT’s Specialist and Secured Services Psychology network.
Your role will involve:
The services utilise a relational approach and a flexible, person‑centred model to meet the needs of individual service users. The team is multi‑disciplinary, comprising of psychology, psychotherapy, occupational therapy and creative therapy.
You will be expected to provide clinical supervision to the team. This will include contributing to the reflective practice, training and critical thinking of the team and in meetings for service improvement.
You will also need to be able to provide core psychological and therapeutic interventions in line with trauma informed care. In doing so, you will be responsible for adhering to relevant service Operational Procedures and Trust policies along with professional ethics and standards.
